Christmas is here!

Here is Collin from his first ever Christmas card photo session (OK, just at home sitting on the living room sofa :oP), wearing the most winter-wonderland-ish sweater he owns (from Janie and Jack, which has been our go-to brand this year)!

We are going to try Tiny Prints for the first time. I think I like their card-stock option. What's your favorite photo card website?

Shoes thus far

The little guy's shoes at 23 months (and counting)...

Collin's favorite pair is the Superga sneakers!

(I really should have thought to buy them in another color instead of pearly white! :oP)

Glorious summer sun

Collin took his first official trip (staying for a couple of days and all) to the beach this summer. What a milestone! ;-)

Wildwood Crest in New Jersey is an absolute family haven, we're definitely going there again next year.

I absolutely love this picture of Sung and Collin basking in the glorious summer sun. The look of sheer delight on Collin's face is so classic.

I know most people do, but I especially love summertime. A LOT. It's probably because I'll always be an island girl at heart no matter what. (Does everyone know that the Philippines is an island country, archipelago for those who are more familiar?) :-)

Happy to be out shopping

Here is Collin at 20 months.

Just four more and he's two! Amazing how fast these folks grow up...

It has been quite nice to be so near the Bergen Towne Center (formerly Bergen Mall). So many good stores have been sprouting up like you won't believe!

Wedding guest

A wedding guest that wouldn't stay put...............!!!

We had a total of five weddings to attend this summer and Collin's been to only two. Ho hum.

Sorry, but let's try next year, Collin boy!

Where is "appa"?

In high hopes of staying true to our roots (Sung and I are both Korean-born - Sung was raised in the US and I was raised in Japan and the Philippines) by making Korean the primary language in our home, Sung and I have been speaking to Collin only in Korean ever since he was born.

Collin's first official word (meaning, he knew exactly when to say the word) was "appa," which means "daddy" in Korean. Naturally, Sung was completely ecstatic when he first heard the little guy say it and has been grinning ear to ear ever since. Well, until a few days ago when we got this on video (OK, so we THOUGHT Collin knew exactly when to use the word - more practice, anyone?):

Um... If you don't get what the clip is about... Look closely where Collin's "appa" is (right next to him) when Collin is chasing after an unidentified moving person (clearly NOT his "appa")...

Happy regardless of hideous haircut

Here is something that I felt would be legitimate to share, in the hope of adding some cuteness to your day. :-)

God bless whoever it was that invented the jack-in-the-box toy. These toys are total wonders!!!

Today marks Collin's 17 months. Just one more month and he will officially be one-and-a-half year old! Yay! We can't believe how fast time has been flying though... Time surely flies when you're having fun, I suppose?

Happy 17th month, Collin honey! You sure look happy, despite your mommy's poor judgement of hair salons... Sorry! (Sorry, also, for posting a video of you with this hilarious hair on the World Wide Web... But you are so so so cute regardless!)

Collin's first year at a glance

Again, this is way overdue, but here is a quick look at Collin's very first year.

What a blessing it has been to have such a healthy and happy baby... We really couldn't ask for more, and thank our family and friends for all their love and support.

Let's just say that we really had a blast in the past year and can't wait for many many more to come!

(I just hope the collage below isn't too overwhelming... But then again, I AM a new-ish mom, so I think you understand!)

(Now, if we could just get our hands on a nice DSLR camera...)

By the way, if anyone is wondering... The hands-down, single most amazing baby item that saved our lives this past year was a good white noise machine, for sure!

If you understand the logic behind babies' sleep cycles, a white noise machine would be the first thing you'd want to invest in. Period. :o)

Make sure to get the one that stays on forever until you turn it off yourself (or have that option, instead of it shutting off automatically every 30 minutes!).
